Jason Katz is a writer, editor, publisher, and multimedia content creator born and raised in Miami, FL. He currently resides in the Bay Area of California.

He is the founding editor of Islandia Journal, an award-winning regional periodical of myth, folklore, history, ecology, art, and writing.
He worked as a contributing editor for Burnaway Magazine.

Jason was awarded a 2023 Individual Artist Grant by Miami-Dade County.

Jason contributed two chapters to Florida!, a guidebook published by A24 Films. He has an essay forthcoming in Wild Life, a book published by Atlas Obscura. His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in The Paris Review, Bitter Southerner, Ploughshares, Saw Palm, Miami New Times, Miami Rail, Miami Magazine, and the Seminole Tribune.

He has taught both HS English and college writing.
