
Jason Katz is a writer, editor, publisher, and multimedia content creator born and raised in Miami, FL. He currently resides in Berkeley, California.

He is the founding editor of Islandia Journal, a regional periodical of myth, folklore, history, ecology, art, and writing.
He works as a contributing editor for Burnaway Magazine.

Jason was awarded an Individual Artist Grant by Miami-Dade County.

Jason contributed two chapters to Florida!, a guidebook published by A24 Films. He has an essay forthcoming in Wild Life, a book published by Atlas Obscura. His writing has appeared in Miami New Times, Bitter Southerner, Ploughshares, Saw Palm, Miami Rail, Miami Magazine, and the Seminole Tribune.

He has taught both HS English and college writing.
